It's our opinion (and not just because we're the authors of an award winning food-themed picture book) that food and reading are inextricably bound together.  Life events typically revolve around food (weddings, holidays, etc) and are immortalized in words.  Memories placed in a diary are treasured, as are family heirloom recipes written on cards just like those of your Mom and Grandma. Stories like Mama Panya's Pancakes tell of not just the importance of food, but the power of the family and friends - and how food often is the binding agent.  We are  humbled to be part of recording this great process worldwide.
